BAND CAMP

Public·2 members

ONE WEEK AWAY!

We are ONE week away from band camp! I'm excited for what I believe is going to be a fantastic week and the start of an outstanding marching season.

To help prepare, I encourage students to begin hydrating now and, if possible, start getting in a little cardio this week. It's going to be a long (and likely warm!) week, so arriving prepared will make a big difference.

Check-In Information

When you arrive at the high school on Sunday at 8:00 a.m., please check in with your student and make sure they have everything they need, including:

  • Any medications (in their original containers)

  • Bedding

  • Swimsuit (if they plan to swim)

  • Towel

  • Instrument

  • Music

  • Lyre/folio

  • Luggage

  • Any other items on the attached packing list

Many of you have already submitted a release form allowing your student to ride home with you after Friday's performance. If you have not, forms will be available at camp for you to complete.

Medical update forms will also be available at check-in if anything has changed since your original submission. I've attached a copy if you'd prefer to complete it ahead of time. If there are no changes, you can simply disregard it.

Theme Days

Please encourage your students to participate in our daily theme days! They are a simple, fun way to build school spirit, strengthen relationships, and continue creating the positive culture that makes our band program special.

Monday: USA DayTuesday: Dress Your Age

  • Freshmen – Babies/Toddlers

  • Sophomores – Teenagers

  • Juniors – Adults

  • Seniors – Senior Citizens

Wednesday: Superhero DayThursday: Cabin Color DayFriday: Crazy Hat Day

Snack Donations

We're still looking for a few snack donations for the week. If you're able to help, please use the Band Camp Snack Donations link and select "Band Camp Snack Donations" from the drop-down menu. Thank you in advance for your support!

Last-Minute Supplies

If your student needs any supplies before camp, please use the Meyer Music Order Link. Students should arrive with items such as valve oil, reeds, neck straps, sticks, mallets, mouthpieces, lyres/folios, and - most importantly - an instrument that is in good working order.

Students should also continue practicing their music this week so they arrive at camp already familiar with what we'll be working on.

Music & Resources

The Alt Rock Show Sheet Music/Animations link contains sheet music, audio recordings, drill animations, and other helpful resources. If prompted, the password is Wolfpack.
