Volunteering

Volunteers make our program work! We understand that putting yourself out there to volunteer can be a daunting ask for some people. But, rest assured, we won't hang you out to dry. We take everyone under our wings and show them the ropes. We promise that we can find a comfortable spot somewhere for you to help out. Our programs are well-oiled machines. What gifts or talents can you bring to the table? Let us know!

WHAT: band camp

WHEN: one week in July

Band camp chaperones enjoy a week off of their usual grind. Get three squares a day and a chance to interact with a great group of high-schoolers while they march until they can't move. Have a freshman going to camp for the first time? Start as a volunteer now and watch your musician grow over the years.

WHAT: Chaperoning (trips)

WHEN: scheduled trips

Maybe you like to travel. Go on trips with the band as an adult supervisor. Band trips are highly organized. You will have an easy time with the great students that make up our bands. See the sights while spending time with students and other adult volunteers.

WHAT: Uniforms

WHEN: before and after events

So what if we have a uniform coordinator on the booster board, they always need help. Uniform coordination happens before concerts and games and continues afterward. Uniforms also have to be cleaned yearly. Trips to and from the cleaners and rehanging and storing the various uniforms and attire takes time and effort.

WHAT: Concerts

WHEN: concert dates are on the calendar

Concerts are a good time to get your foot in the door as a volunteer. Ask someone at the sound booth how you can help. We pass around hats for donations. Other activities include live streaming the concerts, passing out programs and setting up the stage.

WHAT: Band on the Run

WHEN: September

Parent drivers are needed for this fundraiser. Larger vehicles are desired. Three to four musicians with their instruments will need to ride together to various locations throughout the area to play door to door for donations.

WHAT: Home Games

WHEN: fall football season

Students need instruments and accessories transported to and from the field. Uniforms need to be passed out beforehand.

WHAT: Can Drive

WHEN:

Drivers are needed to take students house to house, door to door to collect cans. Be sure you put some plastic down in your car!

We will also provide a drop-off point at the school for your cans. Stay tuned for more information.
